Kantha sewing is a traditional, hand-crafted stitching technique from the Bengal region of India and Bangladesh used to layer and recycle old textiles into durable, textured fabrics. Traditionally used to create home made winter coverlets, baby swaddling, and prayer mats but these days, the technique is widely celebrated globally in sustainable fashion, throw pillows, jackets, bags, and modern lightweight quilts.
